David Beschi
A.R.A.S.
David was born in London in 1941 and was educated at Dudden Hill School, Dollis Hill and St
Martins School of Arts. His first exhibition was held at High Holborn Town Hall and sold out.
He then worked as an Assistant Director at Studio Lisa, the Royal and fashion photographers.
After three years he moved on to set designing and stage management for various repertory theatres,
then to Heal’s of London, designing interiors.
His exhibitions at this time were mounted at the Mansard Gallery.

In 1976, after extensive travelling around the world he arrived in Australia and worked with Hazel
and Bruno Benini, covering all aspects of photography, fashion, display and interior design
including award winning windows for Sportsgirl, a fashion icon at that time.

His first exhibition in Sydney was held at the Blackheath Art Society in 1987;
in 1990 he became the Vice President of the society and
in 1991 was elected to the Blue Mountains City Arts Council.

In 1999 he was elected as an Exhibiting Member of the Royal Art Society of NSW and was elevated to
Associate Member in 2005.
David also exhibits at the Australian Watercolour Institute’s annual
exhibitions at Observatory Hill, Sydney and Gosford Regional Gallery
Woodmansterne Publishing Company of London publish his work and a catalogue of his work is in
the National Library at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

His true passion is watercolour and his paintings are represented in many corporate and private
collections throughout the world
And when asked,
“How long did it take to paint that?”
I have to replay,
“Over forty years my dear.
And the painting is still not finished”
Dead being my final career move,
probably never will be!
