Anneke Silver
Anneke Silver's love of the natural and cultural environment is expressed in all of her work. Associate Professor of Visual Arts at James Cook University, she is versatile in many genres from abstraction to representation, and is continually experimenting and covering new ground. She loves making connections between ancient cultures and the natural world of North Queensland
Her works are represented in major collections both in Australia and overseas. She has an impressive exhibition record that spans many years: more than 30 solo shows, a number of pubic art works in Queensland, countless prestigious invitation and touring shows, including a retrospective in the Perc Tucker Regional Gallery. The Cairns Regional Gallery is touring a show of her work during 2009-10.
Craftsman House art press have published a monograph of her Goddess images and icons.
